#RBSecretBox 26 Unboxing

I’ve been waiting for the Secret Box to launch this month as I noticed I’m running low on hair care products. What I love about the secret box is that it makes high end hair products available to us at half the price. Products I never would have bought off the bat, due to not knowing if the money is justified or not.

So when a new box is released, there’s always a little clue as to what the product is and what type of hair it’s suitable for. This month it was for colour treated hair, which mine isn’t, but I plan to colour my hair soon, so I had to get it. I had a feeling it was going to be from the Nak Aromas range, just because I’ve been seeing it all over social media lately…..So…was I right? Let’s see….

Ding ging ding…it appears I was 🙂

In the box I received the Nak Aromas Colour Shampoo and Conditioner. They came in a little bag, with an information booklet on all their products and then finally the bottles are inside this pretty floral box. They made sure you really wanted this product to go through the actual secret box, the bag, another box…..ha ha.  It was very pretty and added a bit of a luxurious feel to it…I’ve never gotten my shampoo and conditioner in a box and bag before 🙂

What RetailBox says:

So the rage is Sulphate free and paraben free, etc. I’ve been a bit weary of these as I find that the shampoo doesn’t foam like good ol fashioned shampoo, where you could make you hair into this bubbly mohawk back in the day? I needed to wash my hair on the day I received these, so I’m able to do a very quick first impressions as well.

First Impressions

The packaging is nice and ‘clean/crisp’. They are white bottles with writing on them….there’s just something about white that kind of ups the look of anything. The shampoo smells really great, not overpowering. I get a hint of lavender, but it’s really subtle.

Okay…..so this shampoo foams really nicely! I didn’t need to use a cheap shampoo to feel like my hair was clean. It also didn’t leave my hair feeling ‘squeaky’….I’m not quite sure what the term is…but you know when shampoo kind of strips your hair and it feels really…not nice? My hair felt so soft and even more so after the conditioner.

What really sells me on this range is that it’s formulated to prepare your hair for heat styling. So if you’re out of heat protector spray or balm, this has something to help.

Also it contains Argan Oil. Argan oil is rich in Vitamin E and fatty acids. It is apparently really good for dry or damaged hair, it is said to promote growth, assists with brittle hair and split ends. So all in all….fantastic for your hair!

My hair felt really soft and sleek after I blow dried it. I was really impressed. I’m battling with my front hair that I lost after having my 3rd child (almost a year ago). I went completely bald in front. To combat the regrowth that stands high like a lion’s mane, I ended up gelling it down, causing it to then break off again. So I’m hoping this shampoo and conditioner combo will assist with my hair troubles:(  I actually chopped off my really long hair a week ago, and feeling some remorse as the hairstylist did an awful job with the cut. So I really need a pick me up in terms of my hair soon.

To add, I also used this on my daughter’s hair and her hair was so soft and shiny. This morning it has a lovely bounce to it. I’m definitely loving this range just from the 1st use.

Lastly, because I HATE shipping fees, I added the Matrix Fiberstrong Fortifying Cream (RSP R210).

Matrix Biolage Fiberstrong Fortifying Cream is daily leave-in treatment conditions to leave hair feeling reinforced and touchably soft. Features: – Enriched with Bamboo extract and Intra-Cylane. – Creamy texture. – Fortifies and conditions. – Leaves hair feeling reinforced and touchably soft.

I like that this can be used as a daily ‘moisturiser’ for your hair and mainly plan to use it for my daughter’s hair, but I think I’ll also use it on these pesky regrowth hairs and hope it will speed the process up and protect the hairs as they attempt to grow back…run Forest run……

There are still boxes left here on Retail Box and they are selling for R299. Hurry if you want to grab one 🙂
