Colourpop haul!
There’s something about a Colourpop haul that just fills your soul with butterflies and rainbows <3 I’ve spoken about my love for Colourpop before, which you can read about here. In November last year, I saw that Colourpop was offering free international shipping. I had to jump on it, because once shipping and customs come in to play, Colourpop is not as affordable to us in South Africa as it is to US residents, so free shipping helps a lot to keep the costs down!
So….what did I get?
1. On a Whim – mini ultra satin lip kit (RSP $18)
- Magic Wand: Ultra Satin Lip; light nude
- Mess Around: Ultra Satin Lip; mid-tone greige
- Stud: Ultra Satin Lip; warm brown terracotta
- TooLips: Ultra Satin Lip; deepened plum brown
- Dopey: Ultra Satin Lip; muted pink
These were much smaller than I expected. I’m not sure how many uses I’ll get out of it, but it’s a nice way to test out a range of colours and then order the full size in the one you absolutely love. I can’t comment on the formula or wearing time as I haven’t used these yet.
2. Supershock shadows in ‘Just Fur Fun‘ and ‘I heart This‘ (RSP $5 each)
On first impressions, I do not love these eyeshadows…and that’s a first for me when it comes to the Supershock shadows. I expect them to be very pigmented and these 2 just are not. The swatches above are 2 generous swipes and still, you can barely see ‘Just fur fun’. I had to use another eyeshadow with it after realising the pigment was just lacking. ‘I heart this’ is very glittery to me with barely any colour payoff. I’ll play around with it a bit more though, and report back.
3. Lippie Stix in the shade ‘Cami‘ (RSP $5)
Let me tell you, this lippie stix is the best thing I’ve ever bought from Colourpop. I am in love with the colour and the formula. People say that the matte lippes are drying on your lips, but I find this to be very comfortable on my lips and I just love the colour. It’s more mauve than in my swatch. In the swatch it looks more brown, but I definitely think it has beautiful mauvey undertones and on the lips, it’s gorgeous. I think it would go with any skin tone.
Also the wearing time is good. I had it on for a good 5 hours (through 2 parties), ate and it was still on my lips. It was slightly faded, but still there. My husband has requested that I only wear this on my lips every day. That’s how much he loves it. lol.
On the shipping, I was told my parcel was lost so wasn’t expecting it to arrive. It took a full 2 months to get here. I see people are waiting 3, 4 and even 5 months with the international shipping, so you need to be patient. Customs is ridiculous considering this wasn’t even a $40 or $50 order. Customs and fees amounted to about $18, so keep that in mind when ordering any makeup overseas. Sometimes it’s worth it to rather order from a 3rd party seller here in SA if you want your costs to be predictable.
If you order directly, take advantage of the signup promo where you get $5 off your first purchase! That’s ‘Cami’ for free 😉
