{Review} John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Range
About 2 months ago, Rubybox invited all their Ruby gals to apply to test some products from the John Frieda hair care range as part of their #BrilliantBrunette campaign. I was lucky enough to be selected to test out the products and I received the Visibly Deeper shampoo and conditioner to try out.
Note – I don’t know why my picture quality gets so bad when I upload to a blog post. If anybody has any ideas, please leave comments/suggestions below.
The packaging is this really vibrant chocolate brown tube and it’s 250ml of product per tube. The promise is to intensify deep, rich, lustrous tones while hydrating your hair. The visibly deeper range is also formulated with cocoa and evening primrose oil.
The shampoo is a gorgeous glistening chocolate brown colour and the scent is amazing. It’s just so pleasant to look at and smell. I literally want to bath in it. I usually take a few seconds in the shower to just stare at the shampoo in my hands. True story. The shampoo foams nicely, which I love to just make me feel like my hair is getting a deep clean. It also doesn’t leave my hair with that ‘stripped’ feeling as some shampoos do.
The conditioner is not the same colour as the shampoo, a bit lighter and a different texture, but that same amazing smell. This conditioner is really moisturising and hydrating to my hair and it is very needed as my hair is quite damaged at the moment. It feels like I haven’t rinsed the conditioner off properly, that’s how soft and silky my hair feels after I’ve rinsed it. Properly.
When I dry my hair I do feel that it is slightly oily? I don’t think oily is the right term, but then the next morning my hair is silky smooth with no trace of excess oil. I’m not sure if this just happens with my hair….but I find it intriguing.
I’ve been using this now for around 2 months and I would always describe my hair as dull and mousy brown. A few days ago I was looking in the mirror and I realised that my hair was actually so vibrant and a darker chocolate brown! I’m not claiming you can ditch the hair dye and this will change your hair colour immediately, but over time I definitely feel this is a lovely product to have, especially if you’re like me who never gets a chance to dye her hair. #MomLife and all you know?
The John Frieda range is available in many variants and is currently on promotion at Clicks. The shampoo and conditioner retail for R119 each.
I’ll post before and after pictures of my hair on social media as soon as I can get my hair into selfie mode. #MomLife and all…… ha ha
Have you tried anything in the John Frieda range before?
PS It really benefits you to be a Rubybox member as you can see, so definitely sign up so you too can try some of their products in future campaigns <3
