Am I fond of Jane?
I have a bit of a subscription box addiction. Thankfully I do not live in the US or I’d probably be homeless or on my 3rd remortgage of my home. I find subscription boxes are kind of like a present to yourself…..a surprise lucky packet sort of present. So when I spotted a new subscription on the block, I obviously had to sign up immediately. The only issue that came up is that I had absolutely NO idea what the Fond of Jane subscription box was about. The tagline is:
Discover your pathway to wellness with Fond of Jane’s monthly subscription box.
Filled with exciting new products across fashion, beauty, fitness and more. Loads of fresh brands, and the best curated surprises with you in mind. It’s the perfect way to kick start your best year yet for a beautifully balanced life.
The box costs R299 and that includes shipping. Let’s unbox and see what I’ve gotten.
April box (Apologies for bad picture quality. I had planned to retake these pictures, but I never got around to it)
The items in the box:
- Smackaroon Lip Balm (R100)
- Liberty Bespoke Mini Journals (R95 estimate based on double pack cost)
- Raw C Cacoa and Protein Coconut water (R29,90)
- Lilli Heart necklace (have emailed for price, but have not received a response)
- Skin Creamery cleanser – sample
- Skinny Brew 14 day Teatox (R150)
The April box was valued at around R450.
May box
The items in the box:
- EcoffeeCup (340ml @ R189)
- MoonBean Superfood coffee blend ( 2 @ R21 per sachet)
- Cocobaci oil pulling sachets (3 @ R15 each)
- Skin Creamery cream sample
Total for the May box is around R276.
Here’s the debate for me. I like a subscription box that gives me value for money. i.e. I spend R299 and get products worth R500, BUT the difference here is that Fond of Jane is a box with a conscience and I love that element.
I’m a cloth diapering mom and an avid coffee drinker. I cloth diaper, because I don’t want disposable diapers clogging up our beautiful earth, but I’ve never stopped to think about my coffee cups from all the takeaway coffees. I am quite excited to use my new EcoffeeCup and I’m hoping I remember to take it to the mall with me when I do order takeaway coffees and to see if they would have a problem with filling up my cup vs the paper cup. I never would have known about EcoffeeCups if not for this subscription.
Some of the other goodies….coffee with superfoods….yikes…what is that, but strangely enough I’m intrigued to find out what it tastes like. Everything is unique and seems to have great health benefits, but the May box was valued at below what I paid. So I’m on the fence about this subscription. I think I also expected an element of makeup in here, because you know I don’t have enough makeup. ha ha. I am going to see what the 3rd month brings and then I’ll decide if I’ll continue or not. Oh and lastly, I wish they’d include the value of the box and items on the little information card.
What do you think of the Fond of Jane Subscription box? Something you’d be interested in trying out?
If you’d like any information on where to purchase any of these items on their own, let me know in the comments and I’ll provide the links for you.

Ok girl, you are a subscription box junkie ain’t no doubt about it…
My older sister also prefers cloth diapers, I will see what I will use when the time comes…
That ecoffee cup is something else hey… abit expensive when you buy it individually but I like it..
An ordinary gal
Ha ha Zanele…I can’t help myself 😉 Cloth diapers are awesome! I’ve done one post on it, need to do a follow up.
The eCofeeCup I used this morning and it’s really good. A lot of travel cups leak after you take a sip and this one is rock solid, no drips. I think it’d be a nice gift for a coffee lover. Thanks for popping by <3
