Products I’ve used up + what I’d repurchase {Empties}
When you’re a blogger, and I think, more so a beauty blogger, you tend to accumulate a crap load of products. To actually finish something is a feat on its own. I swear some days I use double the amount of cream/primer/etc just so I can hopefully start making a dent in it. So to have some empties to share with you today…I feel like I deserve a cape and a medal or something.
Apologies in advance…I did not go the pretty flatlay route with this post. I just dumped them on a towel and that was that. lol.
Vichy Normaderm Mattifying Cleansing Foam
Okay so this bottle is not actually empty, as the nanny keeps throwing all my empties away! The last bottle unfortunately ended up in the trash, so I’m just using this one for visual purposes today. I LOVE this cleanser and it is one that I will repurchase over and over. It doesn’t strip the skin and a little goes a long way. I probably use a third of a pump for my face. I usually buy 2 of these at a time when there is a 3 for 2 promotion on at Clicks. I’ve featured this previously in a monthly favourites.
L’Oreal Infallible 24H-Matte Foundation
I featured this in my ULTIMATE top 10 makeup products over here, so no prizes for guessing that I love this foundation! It’s been repurchased 3 or 4 times already 😉
Benefit the Porefessional pro balmÂ
Another top 10 must have products, and I’ve repurchased this a few times now. I have a full-sized one currently in rotation and also a closed one as backup. I’m serious about this stuff.
Rimmel Brow this way clear brow gel
I really liked this gel, and the small brush I found was great for shaping and setting my brows. I do feel that for 5mls of product, the price is a bit steep. Would I repurchase? Maybe on a 3 for 2 beauty fair promotion.
John Frieda 3 day straight straightening spray
Technically this is not mine, but my sister-in-law’s. Adam however dumped this out after she lent it to me…. she was so thrilled. I’ve used this so many times though, that I feel like it was mine. ha ha. It’s an awesome heat protection spray. My hair was so shiny and silky smooth after using this. I’d definitely actually buy this for myself.
Vichy Dercos Energising ShampooÂ
This was sent to me by Vichy, but after using it, I’d definitely purchase this with my own money as well. It has a lovely clean scent and I find that it really strengthened my hair. I am keen to try more of their hair care products.
MAC brush cleanserÂ
I found that this cleanser did a decent job cleaning my brushes, but I needed to use so much of it at a time, that it was literally just money down the drain. There are definitely more affordable brush cleaner options that do a better job. This is a product that I do not see myself repurchasing.
MAC brow pencilÂ
My trusty MAC brow pencil featured in a recent favourites post, so rest assured that I LOVE this pencil. I have repurchased it 3 times and luckily also received one in my September Boxycharm. It’s a bit pricey for a brow pencil and it’s only 0.9g of product, but for the perfect formula and precise tip, this is a product I don’t mind spending some extra cash on.
Yardley Clear Away eye-makeup removerÂ
I’ve had this for a while now and when I first got it, I was really impressed with this. It’s amazing with removing eye makeup and it’s really well priced. I did find that it does sting my eyes a little bit. Would I repurchase? Probably not, but only because I am more into cleansing oils now.
Catrice Eyebrow fillerÂ
I love a tinted brow gel, as it’s really convenient on those days where you don’t have time for shaping and filling and and….. You brush this through and you’d be good to go with decent looking brows. The mascara also sets the brows, so it’s really a 2-in-1 product. The con is that this shade isn’t really my colour, as it’s a bit warm. Also as far as I know, there is only this one shade. On the plus side, it does provide a nice contrast when I’ve gone a bit overboard and my brows are too dark.
Would I repurchase? I have bought this more than once, but I would not repurchase it again, as I am really into my MAC pencil. I do however think it’s a good product and really well priced.
That’s it for my empties! Is this something you enjoy reading? Let me know, because I actually rescued the box of empties from the trash after the nanny mistook it for trash. How dare she….. So let me know if I need to continue dumpster diving to save this stuff so I can do posts on them! 😉
Also let me know if you’ve tried any of these, and which empties you’ve repurchased over and over.

I love the Porefessional as well. Been using mine so sparingly, I don’t want it to finish.

It’s really great stuff!! Glad you agree.

I really like this post, especially because if they are empty it means you actually used it. I even though not a beauty blogger have a lot of sh!t accumulated that I never use… just because I needed it and then… just never actually used it. It sucks a lot.

Lol…ya I know. Different aqueous creams for the kids, different shampoos, and and and…. Maybe it’s a female thing??

I found a L’Oreal Infallible 24H-Matte Foundation in my makeup drawers and thought, I don’t like a matte finish but I am battling to find a foundation with a pink undertone. VOILA! I finally tried it, after having it in the drawer unused for ages, and I am OBSESSED with it! Repurchased already. The matte-finish doesn’t even both my dry skin!! Also love the MAC brow pencil!

It’s literally the best foundation I’ve used. So glad to see you also love it as much as I do!

Empties posts are literally my favourite to write and read! The L’Oreal foundation and Benefit Porefessional are favourites of mine too. Spotted a few goodies that I am now really keen to try, especially the MAC brow pencil – can you believe I’ve never tried it! I agree with you on the brush cleanser – I actually just use baby shampoo and it works so well.

I’ve repurchased countless tubes of that L’Oreal foundation. I go between two shades though (the lightest when I’m untanned, and one 2 shades darker when I am tanned). Sadly the shade in between is too pink in tone for me, but I mix the two together when I’m in between colours and it works like a charm!
Also – I’m totally going to try that John Frieda heat protectant now. Going to need a new one soon and this one sounds ideal.

This foundation is a winner! Do you use other high end foundations? if so, how does it compare? I’ve used samples of high end foundations, and to me this Loreal one is just the bomb. I’d choose it over pricier ones any day.

I absolutely love empties post and I even took two or three screen shots of goodies I want to try. It’s like tiny reviews.. Love it!

I find it hard to get to empties too! Especially because whatever I see on blogs or beauty groups gives me FOMO 😫 I end up buying things that I never get to use so then I just end up reselling them 😞
