Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow

This title….what a mouthful! Brands are next level with these long product names, don’t you agree? Okay, so I am like a Magpie when it comes to glitter eyeshadows….. #MustHaveAllTheShiny! So when I spotted the Stila Magnificent Metals, I knew that one day…..I had to have it! When these launched, every beauty guru on You Tube and their mother included the Stila liquid glitter eyeshadow in their yearly favourites videos. After seeing about 10 of these videos, I knew that it was only a matter of time… The precious would be mine…..

What appealed to me the most was the ease of using this product. This appears to be an easy use, one step kinda product. I don’t need loose glitter and glitter glue, cause mama does not have time for that! All the shine with minimal effort….where do I sign up?

What are these liquid glitter eye shadows?

This brilliantly long-wearing sparkle eye shadow combines the perfect mix of pearl and glitter to lavish eyes with incredible luster and shimmer.  With its uniquely lightweight, water-infused texture, Glitter & Glow glides on effortlessly, then dries down smoothly, locking in maximum sparkle with minimal fallout, for eyes with a real “wow!” factor.

Kitten Karma – 4.5mls (RSP R325 at The Beautiful Store)

I contacted Rachelle from The Beautiful Store as she stocks Stila. She let me know which colours were available and I went with Kitten Karma. Kitten Karma was calling out to me, because ‘Kitten’ is the most loved eye shadow ever created by Stila and they even released a few items specific to this shade, one item being a highlighter. The shade is described as Champagne with silver and copper sparkle.

Now let me tell you, I LOVE me some high-end makeup, but I do not love high-end prices. So to spend around R300 on ONE SINGLE SHADE of eye shadow….it killed my soul a bit, but I figured (and hope) that I am going to get a lot of use out of it.

As far as I can see, there are 9 shades available on the website, but there may be 10-12 shades available in total. I’m not sure if all of them are available in South Africa though. Also these seem to have different names in different countries? Magnificent metals, glitter and glow….

Packaging

As you can see, this is housed in a clear double walled bottle and it has a doe foot applicator. I quite like the applicator as it’s not too big so you don’t have to worry about having glitter everywhere. Also the end of the applicator is shaped to facilitate easy application for something like a cut crease for example.

The formula and my experience

This has a wet consistency, because, it is a liquid product, but it’s not dripping wet. Just enough to be able to apply and manipulate the product a bit before it dries down. It is easy to work with and feels really soft when you put it on your eyes. I did find that this was not as opaque as I expected, but it builds so easily. In hindsight I also prefer that I can go more natural or as bedazzled as I want to. I also did have to go over some spots twice, as the glitter can all end up in one spot. With the formula not drying down immediately though, you’re able to move the glitter around for a more even distribution. I use my fingers or a dense packing brush when moving the shadow around on my lid.

There was slight glitter fallout during the course of the day, but this was after many hours of wear. This shadow is really long wearing, and my lids are sparkly all day when I wear this.

I’ve seen Tati use only this on her lid with no other eye shadows, so this really can be as fuss free as you want it to be. Wear it on its own, or use it as a topper over other shadows.

Kitten Karma swatch (Not the best lighting sorry!)

Gals, I was not disappointed with this purchase. This shadow is so stunning on the lid and I highly recommend you pick one up if you are interested in trying out liquid glitter eye shadows. The con is that it is expensive, but the pro is that it’s stunning, fuss free for maximum payoff…you’ll look like you worked on your eyes for hours!

Have you tried this before? Or tried any other product from Stila? If this is too expensive for your budget, check out my review of a drugstore version from Almay over HERE.Stila Magnificent Metals
