L’Oreal Revitalift Daily Exfoliating Pads {Review}
When I shop on a 3 for 2 promotion, I like to buy similarly priced items. I don’t want to buy 2 items valued at R499 and my free item is R129! I want 3 items around the R500 mark. Just me? I may embarrass myself now, but recently Woolworths had a 3 for 2 promotion on kiddies clothing and items. If you buy 6 items for say R300, R250, R200, R200, R150 and R99 you will end up getting the R150 and R99 items for free. Not this mama! I make them scan my stuff seperately according to price category. So I scan the R300, R250 and R200 and pay, getting the R200 off. I then scan the remaining three, getting the R99 off. I saved R299 vs R249. When you’re doing that with around 20 items, the increase in savings differs drastically! Just a bit of a backstory and a tip for those of you that maybe haven’t thought about this. Honestly, don’t care about how ugly the cashier looks at you!! #SorryNotSorry #Savings! Okay, now on to today’s post…the L’Oreal Revitalift Daily Exfoliating Pads……
A few weeks ago I popped in at Clicks to pick up the new L’Oreal clay masks. As luck would have it (well not so lucky for my wallet), they were running a 3 for 2 promotion on L’Oreal products. I had only planned to buy 1 mask when I spotted these exfoliating pads. They were over R300 and the masks are R159,95, so I really debated with myself about abandoning my rule when it comes to 3 for 2. Eventually I relented and took 2 masks and the exfoliating pads. I really wanted to try these pads out! So they’d better be good!
What are the Revitalift Daily Exfoliating Pads?
RevitaLift® Bright Reveal Peel Pads are a dermatologist inspired anti-wrinkle plus brightening treatment. This daily peel pad resurfaces dull, uneven tone and rough texture to reveal fresh looking skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles over time. It is the first step to help skin absorb our powerfully concentrated treatments. Formulated with Glycolic Acid, a gold standard in brightening, our formula is clinically tested to gently yet effectively exfoliate dead skin cells to help renew the skin’s surface layer.
The item that most attracted me to these pads, was the inclusion of Glycolic Acid. Glycolic acid is derived from plants such as sugar cane, pineapple and sugar beets. Glycolic Acid is apparently really good for exfoliating the skin and is also used to treat the early signs of ageing and scarring. Also my skin has been feeling a bit dull, so my hope was that this would live up to its claim and make my dull skin look better!
There are 30 pads in a tub, and they are textured. One side is less ‘abrasive’ than the other, so you can choose which side is right for your skin. I went all in with the rough side!
Packaging
The packaging is nothing wonderful. It’s a very light-weight plastic tub with a silver lid. The pads are quite thick so they’re easy to seperate from the others. Also the tub is spacious, so there’s enough space for even chubby fingers like mine to get the pad out.
Where and how much?
As mentioned in the introduction, I picked these up at Clicks, but I imagine they’d be available anywhere that L’Oreal is stocked. The retail price was around R349,95 if I remember correctly. I can’t seem to find it on the Clicks website.
My experience
I have been using these pads for roughly 3 weeks now. I know there are people who hate products that contain alcohol, so I’m telling you these do contain alcohol. It’s the 2nd listed ingredient! Not only do they contain alcohol, but there’s also quite the alcohol scent when you use them. Just mentioning that for your information.
The pads are not drenched in product, which I like, but they’re wet enough. There is the perfect amount of wetness to do your whole face twice, but without it dripping down your face. I also don’t feel it leaves my skin feeling sticky or uncomfortable. I usually slap on my face serum after this or a night cream (or both).
After the first use, the next morning my skin felt really smooth and plumped. It just seemed to have more bounce. I also used these just after a really bad hormonal breakout, and I felt they helped with the healing process. I feel my skin looks more bright and I don’t know if it’s this product or the fact that I restocked on some other products, but my pores appear smaller. My foundation looks amazing and my skin appears PORELESS. I really don’t know if it’s due to this product, but I think it may be a factor.
Then there is the claim about wrinkles. I unfortunately cannot really comment on that claim, because I don’t think I have wrinkles yet. I wish I could say this is due to good genetics, but I think it’s just due to fat…plumping my skin up! #TrueStory. I am starting to develop frown lines, but nothing that I can say I notice besides for when I am putting on mascara.
Would I recommend these?
Yes I would. I feel my skin does look brighter and clearer. Also it did help with my breakouts healing a bit faster I think. I am currently using the pads every evening, but I don’t think it’s a bad idea to use it just every other day for a really good exfoliation. If you pick this up on the 3 for 2, then give it a bash.
If you’ve tried this before, please let me know if you enjoyed it or not?

I bought these, but haven’t tried them yet. Haha, and I do the exact same thing with 3 for 2. Once at TBS they didn’t want me to, so I literally bought 3, paid, walked out the store and then bought the other 3, just to make a point. Hahahaha!

LMAO…Well done on making your point! It’s our money to save!
I am so glad I’m not the only one. The chick at Woolies couldn’t understand and she was so annoyed with me. I literally had at least 15 to 20 items. I made her scan 3 at a time!! ha ha
Can’t wait to hear what you think of these pads. I do find that after 3 weeks my skin got used to them…so I’m only using them every other day now.

Oh my goodness I am the EXACT same on the 3v2!!
I haven’t tried these yet but when I saw them on your Instagram they went onto my wish list. Think I’m going to use my Clicks points towards these:)

I’m glad I’m not the only one that loves a good 3 for 2?

3 for 2 brings out the worst in us all – I do this as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, so I haven’t tried these glycolic pads, but I do like the exfoliating cleanser. Used up a whole tube!
I can say this though. At R350, you’re buying drugstore products, and you don’t know just what the percentage of the glycolic is in them. They’re great as a starter – an entrance into glycolic acid.
The dr.dermal ones though – R475 for the same number of pads, all individually wrapped, and not only do they contain PROFESSIONAL STRENGTH glycolic, they also contain hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, E and an assortment of Bs. No alcohol. You also only start off using one a week, and the aesthetician at their skin clinic says no more than 2 or 3 a week, or you’re over exfoliating. So while you’re paying more for the product, you get the same amount of pads and use less of them per month… They’re incredible, I’ve gone through so many and need to repurchase!

Your review on those pads actually sparked my interest in this, so I’m definitely going to try those next. I didn’t realise the pricing was so similar. Not similar, but not miles apart.

Okay so that 3for2 idea is brilliant. I also usually try and keep them within the same price but I’ve never thought to ring them up separately as you explained.
These pads sound great
