Make up and beauty,  New Post

Currently Loving….

We’re into Spring…can you believe it?? I cant!! It was Christmas just a week ago wasn’t it??? Pretty soon I’ll have to do my round up for 2018 like I did for 2017  ….just the thought gives me anxiety. Choosing between all my babies. URGH. Today I thought I’d share with you some products I’ve been enjoying recently. I’ve been trying to focus A LOT on skin care over the last few weeks, so I don’t seem to have many makeup items to share this month, but I will touch on what I’ve been using makeup wise as well. Without further ado, what I’m currently loving….

L’Oréal Purity Face wash

This face wash has such a smooth and creamy consistency and I love the scent of it. People seem a bit concerned about the eucalyptus, but I assure you it’s so subtle. I have zero irritation from using this.

My skin feels clean and refreshed after using it. I do wish it foamed a little bit more, but otherwise for R99, this is a pretty good cleanser.

Elizabeth Arden Skin Illuminating Brightening Hydragel Cream

This smooth, moisture rich, gel cream soothes and visibly plumps the appearance of skin with intense hydration while brighteners fade the look of dark spots and discoloration.

I received this in PR a few months ago and I’ve really been enjoying this cream so much! This gel/cream hybrid sinks into the skin and is so lightweight and hydrating. Within a week or 2, I felt my skin looked brighter and more even. This is definitely a really nice cream, whether you have oily or dry skin.

I posted about the Skin Illuminating Brightening Hydragel on Instagram recently, and you can view that post over HERE.

Phytocare Hydra Mist Facial Tonic

In my recent empties post, I mentioned the Minted Mist spray from Phytocare. That product has however been discontinued and this Hydra Mist is the ‘upgraded’ version. Phytocare sent this over for me to try a few months ago and I was really interested in the product due to the addition of the Squalane as one of the ingredients, along with organic rosewater hydrosol, glycerin, aloe vera leaf juice, non-alcoholic witch hazel, organic tea tree essential oil and peppermint and spearmint essential oils. With these ingredients, you can see that this is a lovely  hydrating tonic for the skin. I use this in place of a toner or I mix it in with my facial oil. Mixing it with my facial oil is actually my favourite way to use this. To me, this is the Minted Mist on steroids.

I assumed with the addition of the Squalane this would feel oily or heavy on my skin, but it really doesn’t.

Skin Creamery Facial Oil

I’ve had this oil for a while now, but stopped using it for a while as I like to change things up every few months. My skin has been really dry during the last few weeks and after I saw Rayne using this…. I realised ‘Hey I have that’, so I put it back into rotation. My skin has been loving this oil again!

I mix 2 squirts of the Phytocare spray with about 4 drops of the Skin Creamery oil and I pat that into my skin.

Essence Super Curl Volume Mascara

If there is one makeup item I have been obsessed with since the day I bought it….it’s the Super Curl mascara from Essence! For R59,95….. Flip…I can’t believe this mascara is so good! It’s pitch black and gives me such an amazing curl. I always forget to curl my lashes, but with this mascara I don’t need to. I feel like I have baby doll eye vibes going when I wear this. It doesn’t flake, transfer or crumble. It lasts all day and I never lose the curl.

I’ve just purchased the Volume Hero mascara….the sister to this one and I cannot wait to try it out!

Makeup randoms….

I’ve been reaching for my Jaclyn Hill X Morphe palette a lot over the last few weeks. I’ve also spent some time following Jaclyn’s tutorials on You Tube…. I learn so much every time. She’s honestly a makeup queen!! Lip products…..the Elizabeth Arden lip Gelato has been the easiest. The shade ‘Natural Blush‘ just goes with everything. It’s perfect for makeup for the office, or those no makeup days!

That’s it for what I’m currently loving. Let me know if you spotted anything that you also love from my picks above…..or let me know what you’re currently loving in the comments below!

PS if you entered my competition over here.… Comment on this post with what you’re currently loving and it’ll get you a bonus entry. Just remember to go back to the Rafflecopter Widget to lock in your entry! I’m going to have random bonus entries over the next 2 weeks, so keep a look out for that!
