Christmas with Clarins – my recommendations! + WIN!! {Christmas Gift Guide}

Tis the season to be jolly….tra la la la la…la la la la……. This year has been full of highs and lows…. more highs than lows though! I hope you’ll agree? I just want to continue the happy vibe and hopefully we end this year on the very best high! 2018 is the year I committed to trying to achieve better skin! The product that started it all for me….was the Clarins Double Serum. I have since fallen in love with a few Clarins products, so today I thought I’d share some of my old faves, some of their newer releases, as well as some amazing gift sets for 2018. These will all make AMAZING gifts over the festive season…. who doesn’t love a good skincare product from a brand you trust and love?

I spotted these gift sets on the Clarins website and I just thought they were such value for money, so I highly recommend that you check some of these out so save a few randelas!

1. Double Serum Collection (RSP R1 250)

This set contains:

  • 50 ml Double Serum
  • 2.8 ml Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil Honey #01
  • 30 ml Beauty Flash Balm.

Why do I love it?

Do I even need to say anything about the Double Serum? This was one of the most anticipated launches of 2017 if I remember correctly! Some of you will recall I went to get some samples and fell head over heels in love with this product! My husband, unsuspectingly, purchased it for me on a very impromptu trip to the beauty aisle at Woolworths. I have finished that bottle and am currently on my 2nd bottle! What’s not to love? The packaging is beautiful! I love that it houses the water soluble component already, so I don’t need to add water. Also this really improved the texture of my skin within 2 weeks! If there is one gift set I recommend you try…THIS is the one! Also, the Double Serum usually retails for R1 250, and with this set you get 2 additional products! That’s a deal! A friend of mine also swears  by the Beauty Flash Balm!

It’s an advent calendar filled with beauty products…skin and some makeup…what’s not to love? 

3. Freshness Collection (RSP R595)

This set contains:

  • Eau Des Jardin Spray 100ml
  • Eau Des Jardin Body Lotion 100ml
  • Exfoliating Body Scrub 30ml.

Why do I love it?

I own the Body Lotion and it just screams Summer to me. It’s so light, citrussy and floral (but not sickly sweet floral)…and the scent lingers for ages! I can only imagine that the spray smells as good and these 2 would layer perfectly to ensure the scent lasts all day! Also I’ve never tried any Clarins body scrubs, so I’m keen to try this. 

4. Expert Hydrating Products (RSP R740)

This set contains:

  • Active Face Wash 125ml
  • Super Moisture Balm 50ml
  • Shampoo & Shower 30ml
  • Anti-Fatigue Eye Serum 3ml

Why do I love it?

I have bought my husband either this or a similar gift set from Clarins before and he absolutely loved it! He has sensitive skin and the products were really kind to his skin. So if the hubs is recommending it, I have to include it. Also after reading about all these items to spoil the ladies, I love it when there’s an option for the Mister as well 😉

Something old, something new…..

Clarins Pore Control (RSP R550)

Dream of perfect skin with tighter skin texture rendering pores practically invisible, even close up? This expert serum is up to the challenge. Upon application, its evanescent texture with blurring effect masks pores and reveals an even, velvety and radiant complexion. Day after day, its plant-derived active ingredients help reduce the appearance of visible pores and refine the skin’s texture to reveal the most beautiful bare skin… yours.

This product contains Tamarin, which is used to help eliminate dead skin cells to refine, smooth and even out the skin’s texture. The texture of this is so lightweight and sinks into the skin really fast. I use this as a primer some days or under my moisturiser…and it really does such a good job of blurring my pores. I’ll do a full review of this soon, but I just put it in here, because so far I am really loving this product!

Clarins Sunshine in a compact Bronzer – NEW (RSP R560)

This bronzing powder illuminates the complexion, providing a perfectly even glow. Its caramel-coloured maxi case decorated with flamingos and vegetation contains a gradient of 3 matte shades to suit all skin tones. The different shades are easy to use and arranged in stripes, allowing you to tailor the finish. Clarins Anti-Pollution Complex. This bronzer claims :
  • Even and buildable tan
  • Instant sun-kissed glow
  • Skin protected from the harmful effects of pollution

Gals….this packaging is just GORGEOUS don’t you think??? If these flamingoes don’t scream Summer and pool vibes, I don’t know what does! What I love most about this product (besides the packaging) is that there is the gradient, so I can choose how bronze I want to be, depending on the warmth of my skin/foundation on the day. This blends like an ABSOLUTE dream and just looks gorgeous on the skin…literally as if I have been sun-kissed! It is honestly an excellent bronzer. It is limited edition though, so hurry if you want to pick one up..and I highly recommend that you pick one up! The compact will last you a long time! I can tell this is going to reach holy grail status very soon.that

Clarins Lip Oil in Mint – NEW

A truly revolutionary formula. This exclusive plant-based oil, rich in active ingredients, melds with the lips. The formula is directly inspired by the expertise of Clarins Face and Body Oils. I love mint everything! Ask my kids how mad mama gets when they finish my choc-mint ice cream! Mama loves her mint…lol. When I spotted this Mint Lip Oil…I was intrigued. Did it smell like mint? Is it sticky? Does it nourish? This has a really faint mint smell…not really minty maybe more menthol-y. This feels a bit thick (not gloopy) when you apply it to the lips, but it definitely is not sticky…and the fact that it’s a bit thick just means it stays around for a while. I can drink my coffee and still have gloss on my lips. This feels really nourishing after it’s left your lips and also, it’s green, but clear on the lips. Also the applicator is really nice and fits the contours of the lips well. This is the first time I’ve seen such an applicator. I have longed for a nice clear gloss for a long time….and this get a 5/5. I’m going to pick up one of the darker/more tinted shades next.
