Good hair care products are sometimes hard to come by. In the last year, I’ve really tried to treat my hair better and get my hair looking healthy and selfie ready! Added to this, I am also always on the lookout for products for my daughter’s hair, that nourish her hair and also prevents damage. Late last year I received some new products from Schwarzkopf and included in the beautifully packaged box, was the Gliss Intense Therapy Range. I was very keen to try this on my hair, and especially on Addison’s hair. I usually judge products by how Addison’s hair reacts to it.

Packaging and cost

This packaging….the vibrant purple is just so eye-catching! I really love it and I think it photographs beautifully….not that you needed to now that. ha ha. Otherwise, the packaging is synonymous with what the aesthetic across the Gliss range.

The 400mls Shampoo and Conditioner retails for R69.99 each and 200 ml retails for R52.99 each. The Gliss INTENSE THERAPY WITH OMEGAPLEX® Structure Repair Treatment comes in a 300 ml tub and retails for R89.99. This range should be available at Clicks, Dischem and anywhere else that stocks Gliss.

Using the products

The range smells really nice, nothing overpowering and I absolutely LOVE that the mask is a one minute mask. I am a 90 seconds shower kind of gal, so I need products that work fast. 10 to 15 minutes…heck even 5, is too long for me, so I appreciate that in 1 minute, my hair has had a treat!

I used the range on Addison’s hair first. Addison’s hair is really dehydrated and she swims twice a week, which doesn’t do her already-dry-hair any favours!  I use a hair mask as regular conditioner on her hair usually. We do the Gliss Bonding Sealing Mask on her hair once a week usually and to me, this is the standout product. Her hair is super sleek, shiny and just feels as if it is nourished from the inside out. With her hair being so severely dehydrated, usually I need to compensate… especially at the front…with additional hair oil and after this mask I didn’t need to do that.

I also don’t have to flat-iron her hair at all with these products…..a good blow dry is all she needs. I’m all for less heat on her hair and I try to either only blow dry or only flat-iron. The fact that I can achieve shiny and sleek without a flat-iron, is amazing.

The shampoo foams really nicely and I’ve had no issue with it not cleaning her (or my hair) properly. On my hair, the conditioner is fine for weekly use, and I use the mask once a month when I need some nourishment. 

Would I recommend this range?

Yes I would! This has honestly been the BEST find of 2018 for my daughter’s hair! Just seeing how great and confident she feels with her shiny, healthy looking hair….makes me so happy. I used another brand’s hair mask on her hair last weekend….and it was like chalk and cheese. Her hair was so dull and lackluster…. we just won’t bother trying anything new on her hair. #GlissOnlyZone going forward!

This range may be slightly rich if your hair isn’t very dry/damaged, so just keep that in mind. The range is geared towards hair that is dry and ‘overprocessed’.
