SoPure Range Review – An eco-friendly & natural range, safe for the whole family!

Today…we’re cleaning house….literally, and we’re cleaning it the SoPure way 😉 I recall when I received these goodies in December, the PR contact said to rather wait and chat about the products in the new year, because people won’t really be in the mood to hear about cleaning products in December. From a marketing perspective, I totally understood that. As somebody that knows MY WHOLE DECEMBER IS DEDICATED to CLEANING….I was thinking…..show me the cleaning products!! The struggle is real in December…shoot…like one loooong Spring Cleaning session! Anyways, moving along…. it was the better call, because it’s given me enough time to use the products so I’d have a proper review for you all.

About the range

SoPure is a range of home cleaning and body products that are passionately researched, developed and manufactured. They are high-performance disinfection, allergy prevention and cleaning products using cutting-edge technology and the purest of ingredients. The range was started 14 years ago by Avin Levy, a dad of five, who believed there was a gentler, better and safer way of cleaning than what was available on shelves. All of SoPure’s products are:

  • Baby safe and friendly
  • Free of nasty chemicals
  • Eco-friendly
  • Non-toxic
  • Biodegradable
  • Hypo-allergenic
  • Tested in Germany for skin sensitivity
  • Naturally derived

What I received and my experience

SoPure Bubble Bath (RSP R75,99 for 1L)

The SoPure bubble bath is said to be extra-gentle, fragrance-free, plant powered and the same pH as healthy skin. It also claims to be safe for newborns, non-toxic and eco-friendly.

In December my kids were swimming almost every single day! I don’t like the harsh chemicals in the pool on their skin, it’s not good for them and dries their skin out. I am also an eczema sufferer, so I always seek out products for sensitive skin for my kids as a default. This bubble bath is lovely. It makes really good bubbles and lasts quite a while. I was kind of impressed, for a more natural product…I always expect that the bubble experience won’t be as good, but this was pretty good. This bubble bath kept the kids skin relatively healthy and they, as a result, suffered no ill effects or dryness from the everyday swimming.

SoPure Mosquito Spray (RSP R47 for 200mls)

The SoPure Mosquito spray is a natural, non-toxic, pesticide-free, citronella-free, aromatherapy oil-free, mosquito repellent. This product is so safe, you could drink it apparently… I have NOT tested that claim! lol. This also claims to be safe to use from new-born.

The mosquito situation is always an awful one! Kids covered in bumps…Adam always seems to have his ears swell up like stuffed sausages. I am not sure if a mosquito ALWAYS AIMS for his ear, or if it’s a reaction to being bitten somewhere else. The problem with the other conventional sprays we used is that it made me and my kids gag and choke. I’m sure you know which one I’m talking about. It’s effective, but shoot, that choking cannot be healthy….and no ways can a small newborn tolerate those sort of fumes.

This mosquito spray smells like sweet vanilla. Joshua is the biggest fan and I’m sure he’d happily drink it to test the claim. He would literally close his eyes and just wait for my to baste him in this vanilla scent and he’ll say every single day: Ooh this smells so delicious! I love that there is NO CHOKING and fumes, and also it works. Just make sure you cover every single part of their body. I found if I missed a spot, the mosquito would literally find that spot….every time!

SoPure Handwash (RSP R64.99 for 500mls)

The SoPure Hygiene Hand Wash easily cleanses and removes germs while eliminating stubborn odours. They use the latest plant powered ingredients while maintaining a pH of 5.5 and this gives you fresh, cleansed and moisturized hands.

I have mentioned above that I am an eczema sufferer and my hands are usually hit hard by eczema, due to my OCD, where I’m constantly washing my hands. Also, if you follow my posts, you may know that I am a self proclaimed hand wash FANATIC! I love hand wash in any shape or form, cheap, expensive…anything, just as long as it doesn’t irritate my skin. Ladies and gentlemen….this to me, is the star of the show! I absolutely LOVE this handwash. It is gentle on my hands, has the most divine citrus scent, it truly is an odour eliminator and my hands have been ECZEMA FREE since I started using this product!! I have actually just finished this bottle and I plan to repurchase a few more asap!

SoPure 3 x Concentrated Laundry Detergent (RSP R79,99 for 750mls)

This laundry detergent easily washes household laundry and includes the latest generation enzyme stain remover. The formulation is free from harsh chemicals like optical brighteners, phosphates and synthetic fragrances which means it is designed with both sensitive skin and the environment in mind.

Gals, I’m not going to lie….I do many things…laundry ain’t one of them! I used to be very much into laundry when I was cloth diapering, then I’d make sure the water temperature was right, the detergent was safe for cloth, etc. Since Adam no longer wears cloth diapers, that was where my laundry days ended. For any (future) cloth diapering moms here though, I am happy to tell you that this detergent is cloth diaper safe, which is great.

I am not reviewing this detergent in today’s post, but I will follow up with posts on my Instagram stories once I’ve tried it.

That’s a rundown of the products I received to review. There are so many more products in the range! Honestly, I love the products and the message of the brand….that everything is non-toxic and eco-friendly. The fact that this is an eco-friendly product, means that my grey water from my laundry will be even safer for my garden and plants.

Have you tried anything from SoPure before? If you’re keen to try anything, I found a discount code (another blogger’s) and you can use it on the SoPure website for 15% off. The code is: ‘m&m15‘. Also, SoPure offers free delivery for orders over R500.

Disclaimer: These products were sent to me for review, but all opinions expressed are my own.
