Childs Farm Products, designed with your baby in mind!
As a kid, I was obsessed with bubble bath. The neighbours always had that cool bubble bath, where the bottle talks (in the advert) and he’s a sailor? Matey something??? I always wished my mom would buy that stuff for us, then I would have made it in life. I even ended up bathing at the neighbours house sometimes, just so I too could be nice and bubbly when I bathed. Let’s ignore the lack of parental supervision, because my mom didn’t even know I was bathing next door…but it was the 80’s and it was a safer time. Where you could totally let your kids take bubble baths in a stranger’s home. lol.
Moving along, I think it was because we (my brother and I) battled with eczema, that my parents didn’t ever buy us nice smelling bubbly products. Most products usually aggravated our eczema. The FOMO hit me hard and I find that these days, there is NEVER not bubble bath in my house. I never want my kids to feel incomplete, because they didn’t take bubble baths. Somebody just sponsor a therapy session for me please…… Due to my history with eczema though, I have always been cautious about the bath products that I buy. I know eczema can flare up at anytime, and it’s genetic, so I want to make the best choices for my kids. Safe products, gentle products….products designed with sensitive and young skin in mind. About Childs Farm
Childs Farm’s product range, which includes moisturisers, bubble baths, shampoos and sun care, is specially designed for all skin types, and is dermatologist- and paediatrician-approved for use on sensitive and eczema-prone skin. Products don’t contain any parabens, SLSs, mineral oils or artificial colours and the majority contain over 98% (by volume) naturally derived ingredients.
In the UK, Childs Farm has quickly risen to become the country’s fastest growing baby and child toiletries brand. Its growth demonstrates the demand for more natural products!
Sensitive and eczema prone skin
Joanna Jensen, founder of Childs Farm, says, “It was after the birth of my daughter, Mimi, that I began actively searching for natural products to suit her very sensitive, eczema-prone skin. As parents, we want to ensure we’re using the best possible products to secure our children’s’ long-term health and wellbeing. I couldn’t find any products that satisfied all my criteria, so I decided to create my own.”
Dermatologist Dr Kesiree Naidoo, based at Vincent Pallotti Hospital in Cape Town, says parenthood is one of many motives why people make the move to natural, “There are multiple reasons. Patients with chronic skin problems like eczema are concerned about using ‘potent’ prescription products for prolonged periods so seek out natural alternatives. We’re also more concerned about our collective carbon footprint and environmental impact, so we gravitate to companies that promise ‘cruelty free’ and ‘ethically produced’ standards.”

My thoughts
Firstly, the packaging is just a smile on my face. Weird way to describe it right?? I seriously can’t think of the brightly coloured packaging without smiling! It’s fun, it’s bright and just very aesthetically pleasing on the eyes and to a kid!
Then, the scent…..Oh. My. Word. I literally just sat and sniffed it for a good 15 minutes when the package arrived! The Strawberry and Mint, the Tangerine and also the Blackberry scents….all amazing. When we use it, the whole bathroom and any inter-leading spaces smell like fresh sweet fruit. It’s so divine….not in an intoxicating way at all.
Then the ultimate test…..the bubbles are amazing! The bubble bath makes a lot of bubbles, last long and a little goes a long way. The kids’ skin also feels so soft and smooth afterwards, not stripped or dry at all. Then, my favourite product has to be the moisturiser. I use it on my own skin as well, and it smells like baby…fresh from the womb! #NoJokes It is divine! This does not irritate my skin at all, or aggravate my eczema, so that makes it a winner in my books.
Pricing
All the products range from R79,99 to R99,99 from what I’ve seen at Clicks, which isn’t bad at all! Also, I’m sure there are promotions often, so I’d definitely stock up then!
