Beauty Product Empties and what I’d repurchase!

For some reason I thought that I’d already done a beauty product empties post on products I’ve finished, so imagine my shock at discovering the last one was in January! I’m already sitting with a mini bag full of empties for the next post! I swear I am LITERALLY the human version of Dory! So upon discovering I had taken these pictures, but never did the post, I had to remedy the situation and here I am! Grab a cup of something, and let’s get into another beauty product empties post.

Elizabeth Arden Skin Illuminating Hydragel Cream (RSP R740)

I have featured this product on the blog before and this was one of my absolute favourite skin care products of 2018! This little jar of moisturiser I just feel contains everything I need in a moisturiser. It’s lightweight, contains Vitamin C and mini-hyaluronic acid and it’s oil-free. Everything, right?

Would I repurchase? Yes, once I run out of what I’m currently using.

Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules (RSP from R890)

I received a sample of these capsules in the ‘free gift’ Elizabeth Arden bag that was the free gift for the last few months. Am I explaining this properly? You get a free gift when you purchase products, you know those promotions right? This was in that free gift bag. BUT I also got this as a free gift, as it was a press drop. Totally making sense right?

So I’d heard a lot about these iconic capsules, but had never tried them before. I decided to use it in the first week of my Elizabeth Arden Progressive Skin Renewal Treatment trial and I could see why they are a fan favourite! The serum just sinks into the skin and my skin felt so hydrated and healthy…there’s no other way to describe it. I was sad when the 7 days were over.

Would I repurchase? Yes I would

Heliocare Gel SPF 30 (RSP R295)

Tori, from Kiss Blush and Tell RAVES about this sunblock, so I decided to give it a try. The formula is great, non-greasy and it doesn’t feel like sunblock on your face. I’m not sure why it’s called a ‘gel’, because this has the consistency of a thin moisturiser. There’s nothing gel-like about it. #JustMe? It was so confusing that my daughter was using this as hair gel for a few days…. I couldn’t understand why I kept finding this in her room! Until one day I asked her to bring me the gel, and she was like: but here it is on your vanity?? URGH… needless to say, this would have lasted me a lot longer if not for the misunderstanding.

This also wears really well under makeup! I did find when I got close to the end, it seemed to pill on my skin. I’m not sure if the formula changes when it’s been open for more than x months or when there’s less than a certain amount in the tube?

Would I repurchase? Definitely.

L’Oreal Infallible 24H Matte Foundation (RSP R230)

I feel like it’s a waste of time even saying much about this.

Ride or die drugstore foundation.

Have finished and repurchased many times.

Amazing for oily skin.

The end.

Would I repurchase? Rhetorical question that I need not answer, but HELL YES, in case you’re confused.

Essence Super Curl Mascara (RSP R59.95)

This mascara from Essence has rocked my world since the first time I used it. I love the formula and the brush and it’s definitely up there in the Top 3 of my most loved mascaras. Also it’s so affordable! The formula is good, I don’t experience transferring or flaking and it lasts ALL day!

Would I repurchase? I already have

Brow Pencils

MAC Spiked & Benefit’s Goof Proof

The MAC brow pencil was my favourite for a very long time. I love the formula and the thin tip, however, I hated that it did not have a spoolie! I repurchased it many times though, as the formula is just that good.

Benefit’s Goof Proof also has a great formula and initially the triangluar tip is great to shape and shade in brows. However, once it starts losing the sharp edges, it was more beneficial for shading. It can still be used for shaping, but it’s not as precise.

Would I repurchase? If MAC added a spoolie, yes I would. Benefit’s Goof Proof, no, only because I’ve found the perfect pencil in the Precisely, My Brow Pencil.

That’s a wrap for my beauty product empties and what I’d repurchase. I think it’s always a good indication if the product was finished, so chances are I will have loved the product and plan to repurchase. Spot anything you love or hate yourself?
