Banish your very dry skin with Bioderma!

I know, I’ve been complaining a lot about dry lips, dry hands…and today…I’m adding very dry skin into the mix! Not only do I have very dry skin, but my skin is also ‘atopic sensitive’. What does that mean? In a nutshell, my skin is very sensitive, easily irritated and prone to eczema breakouts at times. I am VERY careful about what I use on my skin, because the wrong soap will cause itchiness, dryness and eczema at times. So Bioderma sent over some goodies recently, and I was so excited to see that this actually was designed SPECIFICALLY for my type of skin. In today’s post I’m going to chat about the range a bit and how I feel about the products they’ve sent over.

What is the Bioderma Atoderm Range about?

Through its Atoderm range, BIODERMA has an original solution for very dry to atopic sensitive skin. Thanks to its dermo-patented formulas, Atoderm biologically and lastingly restores the hydrolipidic film of skin lacking moisture and lipids.

Bioderma Atoderm

Atoderm Intensive Gel Moussant/Ultra-Soothing Foaming Gel

  • Formulated with purifying agents and Vitamin PP, Atoderm Intensive Gel Moussant combats the proliferation of micro-organisms, irritants that aggravate cutaneous dryness.
  • Atoderm Intensive Gel Moussant soothes sensations of discomfort and irritation and helps biologically strengthen the skin barrier.
  • Available in: a 200 ml tube or 500 ml & 1 L pump bottles.

This is a body wash and I love that it comes with a pump dispenser. Is there anything worse than trying to open a tube or bottle with soapy hands in the shower? Okay, I’m sure there may be, and I do it myself with my other products…..but I mean, this is really convenient!

This range doesn’t have any scent (it’s unfragranced) and I find it’s really gentle on the skin. The gel foams nicely….I love a foamy wash! I’ve experienced no irritation whatsoever since using this body wash. I’ve also been using it on my boys, as their skin is also quite dry and I’m happy that it’s gentle on their skin. This may be weird to mention, but this rinses off the body really well. I can’t have any soap residue on my skin, so I love this, and also, it saves water if something rinses off quickly and easily.Bioderma Atoderm Intensive Baum

Atoderm Intensive Baume/Ultra-Soothing balm

  • Intensively anti-itching and repairing care. Ultra-soothing & ultra-nourishing
  • Biologically rebuilds a healthy skin barrier
  • Restores skin comfort and thus spaces out the occurrence of new irritative phases
  • Available in: a 75ml or 200 ml tube and 500 ml pump bottle.

I’m not very religious about applying a lotion onto my skin, because usually, it ends up just irritating my skin. I’ve been using the Atoderm Ultra-soothing balm for a few months now, and I don’t have that problem at all. The balm feels thick when dispensed, but once you apply it, it feels really lightweight and non-irritating to my skin. Again, I also love using this on my kids after their baths, and it’s really nice and gentle on their dry skin.

Bioderma Atoderm SOS Spray

Atoderm SOS Spray

Atoderm SOS Spray benefits from a new scientific discovery: 2 new biological targets were identified as causing itching for skin prone to atopy or psoriasis. This care also acts on other biological pathways for a global action on either frequent or temporary itching.

The new Skin Relief technology (containing Ambora and Green tea extracts) combined with the renowned soothing dermatological active ingredient Enoxolone blocks the biological process responsible for itching right from the start and directly targets each of involved pathways.

The Skin Barrier Therapy™ patent protects even the driest skin from the bacteria that causes itching to intensify.

Lastly, Vitamin PP and Squalane supplement the formula in order to supply lipids required to strengthen the skin barrier.

  • Unfragranced
  • Available in: 50ml or 200 ml spray bottles.

This is the product I was most excited to try! On my itchy arms, this is great. I spray and rub it in, and it really does reduce my urge to scratch. I have this weird spot on my ankle that itches for no reason….so I rely on the spray to help me to not scratch my ankle area into an oblivion. However, I thought that I could use this on ‘active’ eczema that was itchy and it didn’t help with that at all. So, general itchy, dry, irritated skin itchy….yes; active eczema spots, no for me.

Final thoughts

So that’s a run down on some of the products in the Bioderma Atoderm range. I really enjoy it and I would recommend it for people with the skin issues that the range claims to address. This isn’t heavy or greasy at all, which is exactly what I look for in skin care products. Do you battle with any skin issues? Save some cash and always look out for these on a 3 for 2 promotion. 😉
