Make up and beauty

We’ve got some more beauty product empties! Will I repurchase?

I sound like a broken record, but we bloggers LOVE empties! We get to make space on our shelves for new products, or it’s an opportunity to use up some other products. Mostly, my empties are skin care related. I just don’t finish makeup, because I may or may not have too much of it. Oi…. I am making an effort to finish some makeup products though, so hopefully we’ll have more makeup items featured in these posts one day in the future. For today though, let’s see what I have finished, and what I’ll repurchase.

Exuviance Products

I purchased the Exuviance Super Retinol Complex and the Evening Restorative Complex last year some time from Dermastore. I was not in a hurry to finish these products, because I really enjoyed them. The Evening Restorative Complex especially!

Exuviance Evening Restorative Complex is a potent blend of anti-ageing ingredients and beneficial botanicals. This night time moisturiser helps to nourish, hydrate and rejuvenate normal and combination skins as you sleep. This product contains a mild Vitamin A.

This had such a lovely texture and mild fresh scent, that it really felt luxurious going on to my skin. This contains Vitamin A, C and E, so I knew I was getting some great anti-ageing benefits, which is much needed at this stage of my life!

The Super Retinol is also a lovely product. It felt gentle on my skin, no irritation or burning/tingling at all.

Would I repurchase? I would repurchase the Evening Restorative Complex. I love how it felt on my skin and how lightweight it was. The Retinol, I’m not sure I noticed enough of a difference in my skin to repurchase.

Thayers Witch Hazel Toner

You guys don’t need me to waste words on this paragraph right? You know the love for this toner is very real! So gentle on my skin, smells amazing, soothing…. I could go on and on.

Would I repurchase? Hell yes…. Many of you ask where to get this, and I’m happy to tell you that you can shop this toner at Shop Betty Online

Nikel Alpine Rose Tonic

The Nikel Alpine Rose Tonic with Alpine Rose Stem Cells does more than just your average toner. It helps repair your skin and increases the vitality of its stem cells. Using the pump, gently mist your cleansed face each morning and night to keep your skin protected and feeling fresh.

Evidently, I have a thing for rose everything! I was using this tonic everyday until I finished it. The only reason I never featured it, is that my mister/nozzle was wonky (Nikel did offer to send me a new nozzle though), so I decanted it into another bottle. This is a very refreshing tonic, and I’d spritz it on as soon as I got out of the shower, all over my face. I love the idea of ‘Alpine Rose Stem Cells’…. like, just get on my face!

Would I repurchase? No I would not. Whilst I love the product, it’s pretty pricey at over R700. I did however pick mine up at The Beautiful Store when they had a 50% off promotion, so that would be worth checking out if it comes up again. The nice thing with The Beautiful Store is that you earn credits for shopping, that earns you discount vouchers and also free shipping over a low purchase amount. #NotSponsored 😉

Aunt Jackie’s Curls & Coils

We are big Aunt Jackie’s fans in our home and I probably always have at least 3 tubs of this conditioner open at a time. Very gentle and nourishing on Addison’s hair and mine too, though I don’t use it as often as Addison does.

Would I repurchase? I already have.

Smashbox Photo Set Pressed Powder

This Smashbox powder I bought as a very inexperienced, newbie makeup lover. The consultant sold this to me as a foundation, and while it gives coverage, it really wasn’t suitable as a foundation on my very troubled skin. That being said though, I LOVED this powder for setting my foundation. Also, it has pigment, so I could manipulate foundations that were too dark by using this. It was also good to highlight areas of my face with. Sadly, this powder was discontinued, so I cannot repurchase if I wanted to 🙁

Pink Cosmetics Lip Scrub

This is a lovely scrub, all natural, tastes divine, and Pink Cosmetics is a proudly South African brand! It does a good job of gently exfoliating my lips, and I honestly used this LONG after the expiration date. My lips are still fine, I promise. I recently featured this lip scrub in a lip care blog post, so check that out if you missed it.

That’s it for this empties post! I have about 10 mascaras I need to toss, so I may do a post like this, featuring only mascaras. Let me know if you have finished any products recently, and also if there’s anything in this post you’ve been wanting to try!
