Our Top Toy picks + {GIVEAWAY CLOSED}

Guys and gals…Christmas in November is moving, full speed ahead! My kids have already asked when I am collecting the Toys R Us catalogues so they can start compiling their Christmas wishlists… I am sure you know what I’m talking about right??? Last week Joshua told me he needed a NERF gun that shoots out more than one ‘bullet’ at a time….oh and when are you getting the toy book for me??? One thing I have really loved about being a blogger and following other bloggers, is knowing what toys are out there. What’s new, what’s good and more importantly, what’s worth my coins!??? I find it really overwhelming walking into a toy shop, with hundreds of toys, and not knowing where to start! In today’s post, I’m going to share our top toy picks that I hope, may make the aisles of the toy store less overwhelming this year;)

NERF

You may not need me to tell you, but my boys are HUGE Nerf fans! Joshua could get a Nerf gun (or 7) for every birthday and Christmas and he’d be the happiest kid. His birthday is a few days before Christmas and I am really planning to spoil my boy this year with the The Nerf Fortnite AR-E blaster, inspired by the blaster used in Fortnite. Besides being a NERF fan, Joshua is also a huge Fortnite fan, so this collaboration is the stuff dreams are made of for him!

The Nerf Fortnite AR-E blaster, is the only way to play Fortnite in real life. Drop into indoor and outdoor Fortnite action with this motorised, dart-firing Nerf Elite Fortnite blaster that features two flip-up sights to help you align your shot and an acceleration button to power up the motor.

For Adam, there are the smaller Nerf Microshots Fortnite mini-sized Nerf toy blasters. Fortnite monopoly

MONOPOLY

I swear this isn’t a ‘Fortnite’ only list….. lol. We tried to start game night about a year ago, but we realised Adam was just too little at the time and with the kids being different ages, we can’t always find games that work across the ‘board’. This year though, we fully invested in game night, and we have found ways to include Adam, even if he can’t play games like Monopoly just yet. There are 2 on my radar to pick up for the kids soon, one being the Monopoly Fortnite version and then the other is the Ms. Monopoly version. I’m strongly leaning towards Ms. Monopoly, because as mom of a female tween, I need her to know, women are inspiring and she can do anything!

Ms. Monopoly a self-made investment guru, who is here to celebrate women trailblazers in the first game where women make more than men. Instead of buying
properties, players invest in groundbreaking inventions and innovations made possible by women throughout history. From inventions like WiFi to chocolate chip cookies to space station batteries, MS. MONOPOLY celebrates everything from scientific advancements to everyday accessories. In the MS. MONOPOLY game, women get a higher payout at the start of the game and more money when passing ‘Go’, but who you are is up to you!

Play-Doh

Let me just state for the record, that my kids…ALL of them, are OBSESSED with Play-Doh. When I won a pack of play-doh a few months back, in my mind, I won it for Adam. Oh. My. Soul. Did war world 6 break out in my home over that play-doh! My kids are 11, 7 (almost 8) and 4….but play-doh is the ‘doh’ that binds them. They will sit for hours….creating, helping each other and just having a ball of a time. It’s some of my favourite moments to witness. You can literally pick up ANY play-doh set, but I am really a fan of the bigger sets, where you can purchase more play-doh and continue using the original tools. Like making pizza…..or popcorn! My kids LOVE the Popcorn Maker so much…the only problem is getting them to wait their turn!

Little chefs can go pizza crazy with the Play-Doh Stamp ‘n Top Pizza Oven. Stamp a pizza crust in the oven, then go wild creating and customising with the variety of tools and moulds included. Or kids can have fun with Tootie, the hilarious unicorn ice cream maker who loves to create silly Play-Doh sundaes. As she dispenses Play-Doh colours this unicorn toy makes laugh-out-loud sounds and even changes her facial expression.

Frozen

When we moved into our house about 6-7 years ago, Frozen fever was at its highest! I remember 5yr old Addison OBSESSED and 1-2yr old Joshua mimicking Addison as she ran, arms spread while Elsa sang. I don’t even think I can believe Frozen was released so many years ago! Needless to say, even Joshua has been asking: When is Frozen 2 coming out?? We will all be watching! Even though I don’t have a little daughter anymore that would be wanting dolls probably, I still think these are going to be a hit for little girls (or boys) as a Christmas gift!

Frozen 2 Singing Elsa and Anna Fashion dolls – Each doll includes a Frozen 2 inspired outfit, press the button on the bodice to watch the dress light up and hear a snippet of an original song from the Frozen 2 movie. Sing along while imagining scenes with Arendelle’s favourite sister duo. Kids can take magical Frozen adventures on the go with the Fold and Go Arendelle Castle portable playset. Inspired by Disney’s Frozen 2, this castle set has two floors of fun that fold up and fun accessories are included to decorate the rooms.

Sings….Let is go….let it go……

Honourable mention…my boys are OBSESSED with the new Power Ranger Beast Morpher figurines!! I’m going to be grabbing some of the smaller figurines as stocking fillers this year!
