6 Great Budget Beauty Buys from Clicks!

I’ve always felt like a high-end kinda gal, on a pauper’s budget! When I initially got into makeup, watching You Tube…it was all Too Faced this, Tarte that…. and that was the life I wanted. The life I got swept up in for a while…. until I could not afford it anymore. I could not spend one more dime on customs, shipping and our ever troubled rand/dollar exchange rate! I was obviously very warped in my thinking though, because there are sooooo many amazing and affordable options when it comes to the ‘drugstore’ (i.e. Clicks for purposes of this post). In 2020 I’m left eating humble pie, because I’ve really fallen in love with so many budget friendly beauty options, and today I thought I’d share those with you! We all need to know that budget beauty, does not mean ‘settling’ and inferior quality! Or was I the only douche bag thinking this way? Let’s get into my post!

Also, quick disclaimer, this is not a review post! Just a short description on each product, or we’ll be here until 2021! Okay, as you were!

Loreal Infallible Concealer

L’Oreal Infallible More than Concealer

…. conceal, correct, brighten, highlight and contour. Its lightweight, elastic formula cover imperfections, blemishes, and redness, evening your complexion and sculpting your face just the way you want.

This is a great, full coverage concealer. I do actually need to pit this against something like the Shape Tape so I can give you a comparative example of how it compares. I find that it’s long wearing and really brightens my under-eye area.

Revolution Roxxsaurus Ride or Die Palette

The Ride or Die Palette consists of 18 matte and shimmer eyeshadow shades, from everyday neutrals, soft browns to raspberry and pale pink. Add a sweep of highlighter from the highlight and contour palette for an everyday healthy glow.

I was fortunate enough to win this palette recently and I immediately really loved the colour story for this palette! You know I love all the warm tones, and I’m also a sucker for some colour these days. The mattes are a bit drier and I do find I need to work a bit to build them up, but you can create the most beautiful looks with this palette! I received SO MANY compliments while wearing this palette both times that I’ve used it so far.

Yardley Loose Powder

Yardley Absolute Translucent Loose Powder

Yardley Loose Powder sets make-up for a matt finish and controls shine. This formulation is irritant free and dermatologically tested.

This is a super finely milled powder and it goes on beautifully, leaving the skin looking matte and airbrushed. I get a decent amount of oil control with it and it’s also a good powder for baking, and cleaning up crazy bronzing/contour edges. On my skin, this doesn’t leave any white cast….and if I am too heavy, a good spritz of setting spray is all I need.

Wet n Wild MegaGlo Highlighter Powder

Infused with ultra-reflective and micro-fine pearl pigments, this baked powder is everything you need to shine radiantly from the inside out. The creamy formula is infused with nylon for a silky-smooth texture that allows for seamless blending.

This is a very hyped up product in the beauty community, and with good reason! It has such a stunning formula and gives you a really beautiful highlight, that you can tone down, or NOT…depending what you like. There’s a shade for everybody!

I’m not going to feature it again in this post, but also, the Wet n Wild beauty sponge….BEST BEST BEST! If you see it, buy it!

Sorbet Blush Cheek Stamp

Sorbet What A Cheek Blush Cheek Stamp provides a strong pop of colour on the cheeks to be blended with a brush, with silicone treated pigments for a softer feeling and silica and mica for light diffusing effect and improved spreading. The highly pigmented formula goes a long way and the built-in applicator makes it a dream to use.

I have the shade Fiesta Flush and it is the perfect blush shade for me! Shade aside, the formula is lovely…..it does not accentuate texture or contain any shimmer particles, which is what I need. I am not sure about the need for the stamp, because I just dip my blush brush into the blush and use it as a regular blush?

Sorbet Duo Liner

Sorbet Duo Lipliner

Sorbet Lip Line-up Duo Lip Liner Sexy Sassy 1.38g is waterproof with no feathering. Lips stay put with this double dose of liner with rich colour pay off and high coverage. Dermatologically tested, free of mineral oil and preservatives, with natural anti-oxidants. Soft pencil for easy blending.

Initially I didn’t quite get why we needed a dual ended lipliner, but after needing a lipliner and finding it blunt…. it’s great to just flip it around and have another option! The formula is really creamy and soft and it’s also really long wearing. My lipstick may fade, but my lipliner remains 😉

Perhaps 2 shades on one pencil would also be quite a cool idea? Sorbet product development team…anybody there? 🙂

Foundation I did not cover in this post, because I’ve done a number of budget foundation reviews in the past!

I’ve opted to only showcase Clicks in this post (#NotSponsored), as Wet n Wild, for example is only stocked at Clicks. I can do another ‘budget beauty’ post for the other big drugstore if you guys like these sort of posts?

Let me know what some of your drugstore budget beauty gems are! I have yet to find a setting spray to try out and recommend, so hit me up with your recommendations if you have any!
