6 Makeup products worth the splurge!
Today, I thought I’d try to distract you (and me) for a bit on lockdown day eleventy 7, and we’d chat about 6 makeup products worth the splurge!! I have this sense of deja vu….like perhaps I’ve done a post like this before? I have tried to look back to late 2019 and I don’t see anything on the blog. If I have done one, then this will be an updated version *insert woman raising those ‘I don’t know’ arms*. I’m a sucker for a good bargain buy, but there are some products I have splurged on (or received in PR), and I will continue to repurchase them over and over. 6 makeup product splurges (to me), that if you spent your hard earned cash on it too, I doubt you’d be disappointed. I hope. *crosses fingers*
Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Makeup (RSP R625)
Guys, this foundation is a cult favourite for a reason! It’s oil free, contains a SPF and it’s full coverage, but still manages to feel so light on the skin. Every time I wear this, I feel like my skin looks so flawless!!
Also, SIXTY TWO shades! Estee Lauder is NOT playing around with their shade range. Last year sometime, they expanded the range and I am actually keen to try the 3W1.5 which is shade ‘Fawn’. There is an undertone and shade for everybody I’m sure.
I’m also really excited about trying the new Double Wear Light, Soft Matte foundation. If anybody’s tried it, let me know!

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara (RSP R370)
I know I cannot remain biased when it comes to mascara, because I have a bit of a problem. I want to try every mascara under the sun, and I don’t care what it costs. When I bought the Urban Decay Perversion mascara, I knew NOTHING about it. A part of me wondered if I never see people speaking about it, because it’s a bad mascara? *insert horror music* I don’t know, but somebody has been sleeping on this one. The Perversion mascara is amazing! Soft, fluttery lashes, but they’re thicker, longer and pitch black…like my soul! Just kidding…I have a very nice multi-coloured soul š
The only con, I look like a panda after removing, because I do find this needs a bit more effort to remove and I’m lazy!
Clarins Summer Collection Bronzer (Currently unavailable)
Every Summer, Clarins releases a limited edition bronzer. Every Summer….I WANT IT! The packaging is always stunning….which already grabs my attention. However, it does not end there…the formula is something special. It’s smooth and buttery and blends like a dream! Never muddiness, never too orange, red or grey….and usually there are 2-3 shades in the pan, that you can mix and match to get your perfect bronzer shade.
Elizabeth Arden’s Brow Perfector (RSP R370)
If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you’d know I’m a die-hard Benefit brow gal! I definitely still am a huge fan, but Elizabeth Arden’s new brow pencil just blew me out of the water. The tip is precise and the formula is really smooth and also nicely pigmented. Not so pigmented that you can’t manipulate the lines if you’ve made an oopsie though;) The sponge applicator in the middle with the powder formula, is perfect for those days on the go, where you can’t be bothered to outline your brows. It all looks really natural and I find the brown shade is probably the most perfect match I’ve ever found for my brows.

Anastasia Beverley Hills Soft Glam Palette (RSP $46)
I’m pretty sure if you told me I could only keep one of my eye shadow palettes….this would be it. But please don’t make me choose only one!!!
As much as I do dabble in colour now and then….I’m a neutrals-loving gal at heart. The Soft Glam Palette is for the neutral loving gal! It has all the shades for your everyday look, but it also has stunning shades for something more dramatic or bold. Yes there is no turquoise or hot pink….but you’ll get so much use out of this palette!! Also, the formula is amazing! Pigmented, soft, buttery shades, that blend like a dream….minimal effort is needed to create a beautiful look.

Inglot 6SS Blending Brush (RSP R369)
Number 6 of the makeup products worth the splurge is actually a tool…..
Sometimes you can have really crappy eyeshadow, but with a good blending brush, you can still take over the world!! The Inglot 6SS brush is such a brush. I purchased this brush a few years ago, without asking for the price and boy did my eyes pop when the cashier gave me the total. My hope was that I would at least like the brush. Not only did I like it…but I absolutely LOVED it! I’ve had this brush for about 3yrs now, maybe longer and it’s still as good as new. Barely ever sheds, and it is usually the first brush I reach for. ALWAYS. Some days, it’s the only brush I use. The end is tapered so I can get away with using it for blending, as well as more detailed pigment packing in a specific area. That makes sense right? lol.
I will say, I paid around R350 for this brush when I bought it back in the day, so I’m happy to see the price hasn’t risen by too much.
That’s it…the 6 makeup products worth the splurge, tried and tested by moi š Have you been wearing makeup during lockdown? Also, any of these on your lust list? Let me know what your top splurge recommendations are!
Stay safe.
