Nivea Q10 Power anti-wrinkle range {Budget-Friendly Skin Care}
Happy Monday good folks of the internet! I hope that you are coping as we head into week 1 034 of lockdown, albeit at level 3!!. Let me know in the comments….how you are doing mentally, physically, emotionally? Also, is your food budget as high as mine at the moment??? Okay, the reason for today’s post… I am reviewing the Nivea Q10 Power Anti-Wrinkle range. The last time I reviewed a range from Nivea, you guys enjoyed that post, so I thought I’d review this range too. I always enjoy finding affordable skin care options, so…is the Nivea Q10 Power range worth your coins?
So what exactly is Q10?
Q10 is a coenzyme found naturally in all body cells. It’s vital for energy production to fulfil the skin’s basic functions such as regeneration and repair. As our skin is the outermost layer of the body, it is constantly exposed to various external factors, including oxidative stress caused by the sun’s UV rays. Plus, internal processes can cause the release of free radicals which cause further damage. So what is coenzyme Q10’s role? Coenzyme Q10, or CoQ10, is released as an antioxidant to combat this oxidative stress, which is why it is so essential for smooth, healthy-looking skin.
As we age, the levels of natural Coenzyme Q10 in our skin decrease. Due to the fact that it is such a vital antioxidant and crucial for the energy production process, a reduction in Q10 makes the skin more prone to increased stress and damage. This makes it more susceptible to fine lines and wrinkles, and that’s why integrating products with Q10 into your skin care routine could help to maintain younger-looking skin for longer.

When you’re approaching 40 like I am, this sounds like good stuff right???
Q10 Plus SPF15 Power Pore Refining Day Cream {RSP R189,99}
Nivea Q10 Day Cream is specially formulated with co-enzyme Q10 and creatine which claims to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines for younger-looking skin. It also is said to help reduce the size of pores for a smoother complexion. This product also contains a SPF15.
Q10 Anti-Wrinkle + Firming Cream {RSP R189,99}
NIVEA Q10 Power Anti-Wrinkle + Firming Night Cream is an intensive hydrating night cream enriched with your skin’s own Coenzyme Q10 and Vitamin A to help the skin regenerate and restore itself during the night. The light and fast absorbing formula regenerates skin overnight, fights the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and visibly smoothes your skin.
Application, use, thoughts:
All Nivea’s products have that signature scent and these creams are no exception. It smells familiar and clean, which also speaks to the packaging…clean, compact and sleek. This jar looks good on your vanity 😉
Because I usually gravitate towards a gel formula, the day cream does feel heavier to the touch (to me), but it definitely does not feel that way on the skin. The Pore Refining Day cream hydrates, without feeling greasy. I do feel that it does slightly give a blurring effect to my pores, but I personally don’t think anything can actually reduce the size of our actual pores. This product also is non-comedogenic, so I haven’t experienced any clogged pores, breakouts or anything like that. I would usually prefer a higher SPF, but during lockdown, just being at home, I’ve enjoyed this day cream immensely.
The night cream is really hydrating and my skin has been feeling plumped and nourished since including it in my night time routine. I can’t speak to the claims that these creams reduce wrinkles, because I don’t really have wrinkles at this stage.
Both of these creams retail for around R189,99 and at the moment they’re on a 3-for-2 promotion at Clicks! I get so many DM’s asking for recommendations for more budget friendly skin care, and I think I am sold on this range. I do believe the serum in this range is pretty good as well, but I have not tried it. The test for me is: do I continue using something after my initial testing-for-review-stage? The Nivea Q10 Power Plus range passes the test, as I continue to use it daily!
Let me know if you’ve tried this range or if you’re keen to try it out!

Coping… Fibre has been off since Friday so I can already tell today is going to be very stressful working with no access.
I really like the sound of this. I’ve been using the sensitive range now and really enjoy that just looking for a night cream.. Sounds like a winner, the day cream I’m currently using is a small tube as well so I’ll definitely try this

Hey my friend…its been a minute I know. Very informative as usual which I love.
Nivea is a brand we grew up with and all know and up until now Keyshen loves their dreams as it’s thick and luscious and they have an amazing one for very dry skin which I’m using as since I’m Jozi my skin is very very dry.
Ok sorry went a bit off the actual topic here which is face care.
Well being over 40 anything with Q10 in catches my attention haha so I definitely wanna look into this. I’m out of day cream and have neglected getting one since we’re inside… I know that’s bad🤦
