Lockdown Hair Care & Cleaning Essentials! + Ellips Giveaway

Happy Wednesday from a chilly PE! Today I’m back with another ‘Lockdown Essentials’ post! If you missed the first post and giveaway, you can head back to THIS post and we’ll wait here for you to catch up. *Simone stares at non-existent watch*  Ahhh you’re back… Where were we? Oh yes, post number 2. There are obviously many items that we could not do without during lockdown….

Okay, side bar: I do want to say, this is so superficial, because we know there were/are people with no options, hair care, skin care, food…..so please take the ‘essentials’ tagline with a pinch of salt. Please know I mean no disrespect to the personal situation of people who are struggling or have a real version of ‘essentials’. <3

So…today, we’re talking lockdown hair care and cleaning products!

John Frieda Full Repair

Lockdown Hair Care

Have you seen all the posts from people with baby hair regrowth on Instagram?? I thought it was just me, but I reckon the break from heat and styling and everyday life has breathed new life (literally) into our hair! I have spoken previously about my hair loss chronicles, and it’s been amazing to see unruly baby hairs sprouting along my hair line!! Some of my lockdown hair care faves that I am sure contributes to this improvement are:

  • Ellips Hair vitamin capsules (These babies need NO introduction. Mad about them, cruelty free, biodegradable and really nourishes the hair)
  • John Frieda’s Full Repair range (This range really had been amazing for Addison’s hair, her hair feels nourished from within)
  • Cantu Shea Butter Tea Tree & Jojoba Hair & Scalp Oil (I use this along my hairline and massage it into my scalp. This is a heavy treatment, so I am not sure if you can use it and then blow dry your hair? I usually wash, apply, air dry and mom bun until I die.)
  • Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In conditioner (I love how this nourishes the hair and it doesn’t cause flaking either)

– Both Cantu products have been finished during lockdown, so I had nothing to photograph.

Cleaning products

Guys, I have discovered my inner Martha Stewart…or in 2020, my inner Mrs Hinch I guess! Megan, from Mommalike me got me hooked on Mrs Hinch and now I just want a clean home, all the time! I think that’s probably one of the best things I can take from lockdown. Not that my house is clean 24/7 though…..but I try. Some of my absolute favourite products are:

  • Sunlight Extra Nature (I develop eczema on my hands from dish washing liquid, EXCEPT with this! Can’t recommend it enough!)
  • Vim (Vim?? Yes, we all grew up with it! It’s an amazing multitasking product, amazing on your oven doors!)
  • Zoflora (Multipurpose disinfectant…. the Linen Fresh scent is amazing!)
  • Mr Min (Costs a little extra, but definitely repels dust better than anything else I’ve tried)

I know…..cleaning products and hair care in the same post?? 2020 is something else….it is what it is, and here we are. lol. Let me know if you’ve also become a crazy cleaning detergent hoarder! Ellips Hair Mask
