Nunuki for little humans {Brand Review}
When Addison was born, I literally had 2 options for baby products! Two! The moms back then were always either #TeamE or #TeamJ ….. there was no other option. It was kind of like breastfeeding vs bottle and it could get heated! Fast forward to 2020 and thankfully us parents are spoilt for choice when it comes to what we choose to use on our kids’ skin. I was recently sent some products from new kid on the block, Nunuki, to try out and I thought I’d share my thoughts today. Nunuki….how cute is that name though???
What is Nunuki about?
Nunuki® is a locally made range of skincare products for babies and children. They’ve worked with super-smart pharmaceutical companies to make the best skincare products possible, all of which are dermatologically tested and approved, CANSA endorsed and Proudly South African. They back this with a 100% money-back guarantee. Nunuki® products are available online and in selected stores.
What’s in the range?
Elfie’s Cream
Carefully formulated with a special blend of natural oils that assist in moisture retention and aid hydration. Avocado Oil softens and smoothes the skin. Jojoba Oil conditions and moisturises the skin. This cream also protects against skin irritation and strengthens skin barriers.
Elfie’s cream comes in a pump bottle, which I love! Who doesn’t love a product with a pump? It’s just so much easier to use.
I absolutely LOVE this cream. It feels so rich and creamy, but the minute you rub it in, it disappears into the skin at lightning speed with no greasiness. It also smells really good….I think the blend of oils gives it such a unique scent that you’ll want to inhale it.
Izey’s Hair & Body Wash
A mild body wash and shampoo, specially formulated to gently clean and soften skin and hair. Containing natural oils with antioxidant properties, it improves elasticity and protects the skin against dehydration. We have added Jojoba Oil, renowned for its excellent conditioning and moisturising properties.
Again, pump bottle for the win….AND this is a multitasking kinda product! With the boys….I lump them into the shower and the fact that I can use this to wash them and their hair, just saves me so much time and effort. This scent is similar to Elfie’s Cream, so they layer the scent well if you use them together.
Nunu’s Bath & Massage Oil
A Bath Oil and Massage Oil with a unique formulation to hydrate and soothe the skin. The added Lavender Oil helps leave the baby calm before bedtime. It contains Vitamin E to protect, moisturise and promote healing. Regular use will leave the skin soft and supple.
A tale as old as time….but when my kids were little… we used ALL the lavender scented things in the hopes of promoting better, more peaceful sleep (for us all!). So I love that this massage oil contains Lavender Oil…as well as Vitamin E. It smells divine! I add a drop of this oil to the Elfie’s Cream at night after the kids shower. I don’t massage my kids anymore, but the kids actually love giving me and their dad back massages with this oil….lol. We exploit the kid labour where we can 😉
More items in the range:
- Dex’s Bum Cream – An effective Bum Cream formulated with special ingredients, including Zinc Oxide, to protect and nourish the skin. The unique natural oils of this formulation have anti-oxidant and protecting properties to soothe sensitive skin.
- Maxi’s Pesky Bug Cream – A special blend of Citronella oil and Lemongrass will help keep mosquitoes and other bugs away. This lovely cream also contains Avocado and Grape Seed Oil to moisturise and condition the skin, leaving it feeling silky soft.
- Lello’s Protecting SPF30 Sunscreen – Our sunscreen formulation has been extensively tested and received the CANSA Seal of Recognition, to ensure that your little human will be protected against the harsh South African sun. It protects against UVB and UVA rays if liberally applied and reapplied every 2 hours.
Cruelty-free, vegan….what about parabens? The Nunuki website actually has a pretty transparent and detailed FAQ page where you’ll get the answers to all these questions. The products range from R40 to R90, but there also are bundles and promotions online that will save you some extra cash, as well as free delivery with orders over R350.
With the hit so many businesses took during the Covid-19 lockdown….I’m all about supporting local at the moment. Definitely check Nunuki out if you’re looking to try out some new baby/kiddie products.
