Monthly favourites – What I was loving in June

I haven’t done one of these posts in a while, as I do worry that these monthly favourites posts are just too much for you.  If you do enjoy these kind of favourites posts, let me know and I’ll make an effort to do them monthly, even if I decide to only feature 3 or 4 products. I try to upload these posts only if I really am obsessed about something and I want to shout it from the rooftops!

This month happens to be one of those months where I am really obsessed with the products I’m about to chat about, so without further ado….

Kiehls – Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil

Okay, just why do these product names need to be so long? Goodness gracious me. Moving on…. I was fortunate enough to win this cleansing oil about a month or so ago from Kiehls. You can use this as a cleaning oil or as a pre cleanser to remove your makeup. I mainly use it as a makeup remover. Why do I love it?

  • First off, let me tell you that this cleansing oil is a mascara slayer! I can have 107 coats of mascara on, I just rub some of this (cotton pad what?) over my eyes and massage it through my lashes and Bobs your uncle. No black marks on my towel.
  • Secondly, this leaves no greasy residue on my skin.
  • Lastly I feel this really moisturises my skin as well. I have patchy dry parts on my skin and since using this cleansing oil, I don’t seem to have that problem anymore.

Hean – Perfect Makeup Base

This is an oil free primer that I spoke about in this blog post. This primer goes on so smoothly and a little goes a long way. I feel that it does maybe the best job at blurring/filling my pores and I just love how my makeup looks over this primer.

Hean – Luxury Liquid Matte Lipstick

This is another Glamore Cosmetic product that you can read about in this post. Ordinarily I would NEVER be wearing a red toned lipstick, but this colour just speaks to me. I’ve gotten compliments every single time I wear this. Even unwelcome compliments. FML.  The formula is also great. I don’t find it drying on my lips and the wear time is really good.

Real Her – I am a Rockstar Liquid Lipstick

I received this is a previous month’s boxycharm and this lipstick really impressed me. You can see swatches in this post if you’d like to. It’s a plum/burgundy shade and I just surprise myself every time I wear this. Like….why don’t you tattoo this onto your lips Simone, cause damn girl…you are slaying! Okay I’m not that vain, but seriously, I love this colour. Seeing as it’s a US product, I hope I can find a dupe here in South Africa. Also I’m all about the positivity of the brand. #IAmARockstar

Woolworths – Oil Free Make Up Remover Wipes

You may recall I had these in a ‘what’s new‘ blog post about a month ago. These wipes initially I thought felt a bit dry, but I found that helped to really ‘grip’ the makeup and get it off the skin. Does that even make sense? I find if a wipe is too wet, all it does is slide the makeup around my face. This is great for when I get home and I just want to clean my face without washing it. My face really feels clean after using this without any sort of residue or sticky feeling. These wipes are not the best with removing mascara though. I would definitely repurchase these, especially when there’s a beauty fair on 😉

John Frieda – Frizz Ease Oil Elixir

Technically this isn’t MY product, though my sister-in-law may think that I seem to believe this belongs to me and not her. lol. I am always borrowing it from her…I’m sure my days are numbered with using it. This stuff is absolutely AMAZING! I’ve gone through about 2 months now of not heat styling my hair. I wash and condition my hair, rinse and then towel dry. I then add this oil and some hair food and I braid my hair overnight. The next morning I have the softest waves and I attribute it to this hair oil. I’ve tried a cheaper serum/hair oil and I just don’t get the same results. I love this so much that I do plan to purchase my own bottle soon. 🙂

Cadbury – Popcorn Jelly Cola Marvellous Creations

Don’t judge me! I saw this online and I thought people were nuts! Why even? Chocolate, popcorn and jelly sweets? If I’m honest I can do without the jelly sweets, but otherwise, I have eaten my body weight in this chocolate last month. *can’t look face*

So gals, these were my favourites for June! What were some of your favourites this month? Leave me a comment and if I stumble upon it, I may try it out 😉

WOW! Love this – must try the John Frieda Frizz thingy (name is too long)! Uhm, my favourites are Baby Dove lol… I’m busy with a review still. I don’t try a lot of new things but you make me want to! Love the pics! x

I love reading these posts! I also write one of these every month haha! That lipstick colour is so gorgeous. I definitely need to try and find a dupe over here haha!

Ooooh the primer looks interesting. And I agree Glamoresa’s liquid matte lipsticks are everything! Also, I think I might just invest in the John frieda products sounds like exactly what I need to tame this problematic hair of mine. Lastly, I’ve been wanting to try this chocolate out for so long buy can’t bring myself to buy the big one, lol, and I haven’t spotted the little ones.

I saw the little ones tonight at spar and thought of you! I saw another blogger also say this range was good for hair. So definitely give it a try. Your hair looks so lovely in pics though;)

I’m not even kidding when I say I don’t reach for anything else to clean my face. I keep testing it with the mascara and wipe on the towel to make sure I ain’t lying to my readers. lol. Every single time, towel clean. Even foundation…there’s nothing left. I honestly think it’s a winner. I just wish it wasn’t so pricey.
